Post secondary education - 1-2 years of either work in Agriculture, Military training or work in Hospitality.

To be done after the leaving cert / after completing secondary school.

I believe the age we begin college is often too young to firstly, truly know what you want to do, and secondly to maximise on the degree. 

As such, I believe the youth would be served well by completing one year of either Military training, working on farms or working on hospitality, prior to applying to higher education. 

Each option will teach them invaluable life skills, and allow for time to mature before deciding on the path for their future.
